  1. Nikki,
This gave me chills when I watched it! Whitney Houston is one of my all-time favorites. I believe that this song typifies the reason that most of us want to advocate for children in the first place, they are our future. Also, I believe that this song speaks to the topic of this week’s discussion assignment. For me this song represents the resilience of children. No matter what occurs in your life, you have to love yourself. This song reminded me of the importance of supporting children and being a positive role model.
    Thanks for sharing,
    Amanda

  2. Nikki,
This is a great song to share with the class. I idolized Whitney Houston when I was growing up and she was one of the main reasons I wanted to become a singer. Greatest Love of All is a classic song and I gave sung it many times before. The opening lines "I believe the children are our future, teach them well and let them lead the way. Show them all the beauty they possess inside", are some of the most powerful lyrics ever written. The children are our future. If we ever want to truly see a change, we must teach them to except all people. It seems as cycle of hate is never ending and it is time for the cycle of peace and love to take over.

  3. Nikki,
Love Whitney Houston! What an amazing talent gone way too soon :-( So glad she was able to leave her mark and make such wonderful and warm music. This was a good choice to describe love in all its glory.

  4. Nikki,
I also adore this song. We sing it every year at my church's Back to School Rally. I believe also if we invest in our children we are investing in the future! You picked a great song to represent love and embracing children!!
